About Us
From Brittany to New Caledonia
Bastien Preuss, a doctor of marine ecology, has maintained a strong connection with the sea since his childhood in Brittany. This "love affair" led him to study biology and ecology applied to the marine environment. Traveling from Canada to New Zealand, via Costa Rica, Bastien finally settled in New Caledonia in 2007. He completed his doctorate there, focusing on fish populations in the Grand Sud lagoon between 2008 and 2012, at the University of New Caledonia.

The marine biologist is also passionate about diving and underwater photography, and has even become an instructor.

Building on his experience, Bastien founded the marine biology research firm SQUALE in 2012, followed by the scientific and tourism diving club ODYSSEY DIVING in 2018.
For six years, the image hunter served as president of the audiovisual commission of the French Federation of Underwater Studies and Sports.
In 2016, and for three consecutive years, he won the New Caledonia Underwater Photography Championship, allowing him to represent the territory at the French Championships, where he won several awards.
Finally, in August 2024, the sailing catamaran Nautilus 360 have completed the multi-activity platform bringing together the three companies, of which Bastien is the manager.

Known for his long-standing commitment to the preservation of the reefs and the New Caledonian lagoon through his work on marine protected areas, this seabed enthusiast has worked closely with various local stakeholders such as Paladalik and WWF to monitor turtles.
Today, Bastien Preuss and his team are committed to protecting New Caledonian biodiversity by observing it and raising awareness about its preservation.

to radiate throughout the territory and even further in order to:
Observe
through tourist and scientific diving and submarine images including VR 360°
Understand
through scientific research and study of marine environment
Transmit
through raising awareness of the preservation of the marine environment among to the general public and schoolchildren and its promotion
